LPT to launch new women's psychiatric intensive care service


A new mental health inpatient service providing specialist psychiatric intensive care for women with complex and urgent mental health needs will be launched by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) this Autumn. The service has been commissioned by East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and will serve not just Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland but also provide more easily accessible beds for women from Lincolnshire and Derbyshire under an agreement with CCGs there.

NHS staff from two Leicestershire Trusts will go from healing hands to fighting feet when they tackle each other in a fundraising soccer tournament on Saturday (22 July).Twelve ‘rival’ teams from Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) and Leicester’s Hospitals (UHL) will compete in a five-a-side ‘NHS Cup’ tournament in a bid to raise up to £4,000 for the benefit of patients.

We are delighted to announce the launch of the LPT Yellow Book – a pioneering yellow bound book full of signposting and advice around mental wellbeing support. It features a collection of 30 stunning poems, art and photography which won our ‘I feel better when’ competition earlier this year across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Family Health Week - it's no accident


From Monday 10 July until Friday 14 July, LPT is running Family Health Week, holding health promotion events across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland which focus on different aspects of accident prevention.

Event aims to improve awareness of effects of trauma


NHS organisations and partners in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland are spearheading a new drive aimed at improving awareness of the effects of trauma. We are hosting an event at the Peepul Enterprise Centre in Leicester on Wednesday 12 July to encourage discussions and launch a leaflet encouraging people troubled by events they have witnessed – either first hand or indirectly, to recognise the signs of depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).


City showcase for therapeutic prison art

Artwork created by prisoners at Leicester and soon-to-close Glen Parva prisons will be showcased at a public exhibition in the heart of Leicester during July.Stunning paintings, intricate drawings, powerful digital art and 3D models will feature in the Hear Me Out exhibition at Soft Touch Arts in New Walk, Leicester from Saturday 8 July until Saturday 29 July.
